Viewing and Spectating in the Theory and Practice of Greek & Roman Drama, 29-30 June 2015

The 15th annual joint APGRD and Central School of Speech and Drama Postgraduate Symposium on the Performance of Ancient Drama will take place on Monday 29 and Tuesday 30 June 2015.

There is no registration fee and everyone is most welcome to attend one or both days – and we wish to extend this invitation to undergraduates.

Monday 29 June: 10am Welcome: Rehearsal Room 1 & 2 (West Block), Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, London NW3 3HY
Tuesday 30 June: 11am Welcome: Ioannou Centre Lecture Theatre, 66 St. Giles’, Oxford OX1 3LU

This year’s guest respondents will be: Yana Zarifi (Artistic Director, Thiasos Theatre Company) and Dr Margaret Coldiron (Deputy Head of BA World Performance E15 Acting School/University of Essex, Specialist in Asian Performance and Masks). Day two of the symposium will conclude with a talk by Włodzimierz Staniewski on the Pythian Oratorio – with excerpts performed by members of his Gardzienice theatre company.
The talk will begin at 7pm in the Jacqueline du Pré Music Building at St Hilda’s College, Oxford: the talk is free and everyone is most welcome (including those who are unable to make the symposium), however seating is limited so please reserve your place via eventbrite: https://eventbrite.co.uk/event/16708871685/
